Retro S Retrofitting Insert - Pre-setting feature for old thermostatic valves – quick and easy
From now on the standard valve bodies of old HEIMEIER thermostatic valves (models from 1982 onwards, with nominal widths DN 15 and DN 20) can be converted by means of the Retro S retrofitting insert with its pre-setting feature. The exterior distinguishing mark on these valve bodies is the connection thread for the thermostatic head positioned directly on the housing. If retrofitting is to be carried out, it is important to first check if the housing has any boss marking or not. For housing manufactured from 1994 onwards with numerals marked on the boss, the V-exakt inserts with the pre-setting feature and the F-exakt inserts with exact precision setting are available to suit such construction.
By exchanging inserts, the standard thermostatic valve bodies can be revamped into thermostatic valve bodies with a pre-setting feature. Consequently hydronic balancing with presettable valves can also be carried out at a later date.
Such replacement of inserts can always become necessary if the requirements demanded of the valve bodies change. This could happen if amendments are subsequently made to existing heating installations such as the connecting up to a district heating network, the exchanging of a boiler for a condensing boiler or as a result of any modernisation done to a building, e.g. the fitting of full thermal protection.
All this kind of conversion work can be completed using the HEIMEIER mounting apparatus. It takes very little time, is inexpensive and does not require any draining of the heating system.
-Pre-setting retrofitting for subsequent – hydronic balancing by using mounting apparatus
-For standard valve bodies, all models from 1982 onwards
-Conversion requires no draining of heating system and is quick and inexpensive
